Eddie was our Black Wolf Badass on July 13th.
Although we aren't able to tag him because he's old school when it comes to social media, this family man has been with us since late last year. He began in our Fit101 Boot Camp and made the switch to CrossFit with ease.
Today he trains with us at 5am, starting the day off strong. He has a soft spot for Front Squats and will be Back Squatting 400# before he knows it.
Most importantly, he has embraced the role that nutrition plays in his health and wellness. He has taken on our nutrition challenges and truly worked to understand what works well for him and what does not. As a result, he his seeing progress every day.
So thank you to Eddie for bringing such a positive energy to our community and continuing to push himself each and every class.
ere is our little interview with Eddie:
How long have you been at Black Wolf?
Started FIT101 (our old boot camp program) April 2015, so about 1yr 4months
How did you end up here?
I had been talking about how I needed to lose some weight and get into better shape, and I had a friend (Crystal Mear) who had been talking about BW. So I looked it up and decided to give it a shot and was hooked from day 1.
What has been the biggest change for you?
The biggest change for me has been my nutrition. I used to have 3 to 4 cokes a day, eat frozen pizzas and whatever kind of junk food I could get my hands on. But by taking part in one of nutrition challenges, as much as I hated it, it showed me that the better decisions you make about what you consume, really show up while working out. But the results are just not limited to working out, I have felt better just doing things around the house or while out with family. I used to feel tired all the time, sluggish, and just wanted to lay around, now I feel more energized and ready to take on what ever comes my way.
What is your least favorite movement or exercise?
If I have to choose just one, I would have to say currently it is hang cleans.
Why Black Wolf?
It is like a second home or family. From the first day I showed up large and in charge there was no negativity. It was all encouragement and continues to be that way. And it is not just the coaches, you can be struggling with a movement and before you know it the whole gym is yelling to encourage you to push you through that last set. If you don't quite understand the movement, not to worry, the coaches will take the time to show you . I also like the occasional crazy talk as well such as "are we going to put some weight on there today? or are we just going to play around all day?" I also like Black Wolf because Ben gives pretty good advise if you are planning a trip to Disney World also!
